The Assistant Media Planner assists in the development of effective, innovative, and strategic solutions and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and execution of approved media plans. The Assistant Media Planner also provides support to key team members in daily account management and reports directly to the Media Supervisor.
What you'll do
Account & Client Management
- Maintain day-to-day operations of assigned accounts, including billing issues, budget revisions, flowchart updates, competitive analysis, and post-buy analysis.
- Produce work that meets client goals and gains industry recognition for creativity and results.
- Collaborate with the Media Planner in developing media strategies and points of view.
- Understand the client's business, including market share and competitor strategies.
- Communicate effectively with the Media Supervisor and Media Planners about day-to-day status and concerns.
Vendor & Media Evaluation
- Evaluate publications, websites, and other media for relevance to client goals.
- Assess inventory against audience segments to determine effective media vehicles.
- Study demographic data to identify target audiences for online advertising.
- Stay updated on key developments in media.
- Maintain effective relationships with media vendors.
Campaign Execution & Maintenance
- Assist the Media Planner in managing media buys and ensuring timely processes.
- Prepare insertion orders and place advertising with media vehicles.
- Conduct campaign analysis to assist in optimizations and planning.
- Implement and analyze digital campaigns using third-party ad servers.
- Monitor media for discrepancies and negotiate adjustments as needed.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with spreadsheets/Excel.
- Track record of demonstrating creative, strategic, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Understanding of consumer insights.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Some travel and after-hours work required.
