Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Music Therapist - Contractor! If you have a desire to work in an engaging environment with a team of professionals dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families for the achievement of improving their mental health. The Music Therapist provides therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult, adolescent or child patients under Brentwood’s care for emotional or substance abuse problems. The contract therapist will provide music therapy or art therapy activities under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Therapies are age appropriate, consistent with level of growth, development, and functioning, consistent with overall treatment goals, demonstrates sound application of theory/methodology and contributes effectively to patient progress.
  2. Sufficiently plans and prepares for activities; reports to assigned groups in timely fashion.
  3. Maintains the administrative documentation associated with services rendered.
  4. Participates in the effective allocation of departmental resources; provides requested budget and purchasing input to supervisor in a timely and accurate manner.
  5. Participates in the ongoing implementation of the department’s or service’s continuous quality improvement plan.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Music therapy required
  • Licensure/Certification: MT-BC preferred
  • Experience: Previous behavioral health experience preferred
  • Hours: Determined by the Director of Clinical Services according to the needs of the facility and contract therapist availability. Schedule determined prior to hire.
