The Town School seeks an experienced, full-time Nursery and Lower school music teacher to work with students in Nursery 3 through 3rd grade.
Major Responsibilities:
- Teach all general music classes in grades N3, N4, K, 1, 2, and 3.
- Direct all-school assembly vocal performances as needed.
- Play piano and teach songs as needed for Lower School Town Meeting.
- Serve as the piano accompanist for the Lower School Chorus.
- Serve as musical director, collaborating with the dance teacher and grade-level teaching teams for grade-level plays in grades K, 1, 2, and 3.
- Help with the LS Talent Show, sponsoring students as needed.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with subject area, grade-level, divisional, and school-wide colleagues for curriculum planning, student support, and mentoring.
- Differentiate instruction to attend to the needs of individual children.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administration.
- Serve as a community member by attending student guidance and divisional meetings.
- Contribute constructively to all faculty discussions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity and support of Town’s Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; demonstration of personal growth and accomplishment in this area preferred.
Salary Range: $66,000-$113,300 based on experience (not including stipends for masters/PhD., or other stipended work)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong piano skills required.
- Understanding of and experience with Orff Schulwerk and/or Kodaly approaches.
- Experience incorporating technology in support of student learning.
- Passion for teaching young children.
- Personal characteristics of an outstanding professional: warmth, tact, discernment, superb communication and organization skills, high energy, and a good sense of humor.
