THE ROLE

A Music Hall Bartender will be responsible for serving guests food and beverage within a high-volume, fast-paced, and often loud music hall environment.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  1. Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area during shift
  2. Follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards
  3. Assist other employees as needed
  4. Follow opening and closing procedures, checking out with the manager on duty
  5. Adhere to all HOB policies and procedures
  6. Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and HOB alcohol policies
  7. Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age
  8. Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager
  9. Cash handling; bank procedures (cash pull/check out) and payment processing (on point of sales terminal) for both cash and/or credit transactions
  10. Required to occasionally work special events scheduled within the venue
  11. Interact with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor, cultivating repeat business
  12. Suggestively sell menu items to guests
  13. Take and deliver food and beverage orders promptly
  14. Prioritize and organize drink orders
  15. Consistently prepare beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, abide by all control systems utilizing liquid measuring tools for consistency

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

  1. Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa
  2. Attention to detail
  3. Positive attitude
  4. Teamwork; work well with others, in a high-volume and sometimes stressful environment
  5. Keep a clean, well-groomed appearance
  6. Punctual attendance with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  7. Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms
  8. Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent (paid training will be provided)

Preferred:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Experience in a high volume, fast-paced work environment
  3. Experience recognizing valid IDs
  4. Cash handling experience
  5. Beer, Wine & Liquor knowledge, current with latest drink trends
  6. Point of Sales knowledge, preferably MICROS

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  1. Willing to commute to downtown area (discounted $7 parking available daily)
  2. Working environment is fast-paced, can be hot, and/or loud
  3. Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and/or working on your feet
  4. Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
