Service Representative (Teller)

A Brief Overview

The Service Representative is responsible for attending to and processing Bank customers' daily transactions, including (1) identifying customer needs for bank products and services and referring accordingly, (2) providing service to customers following satisfaction standards, (3) complying with regulatory requirements and operational procedures, and (4) complying with the scorecard for banking products.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  1. Process monetary transactions such as check cashing, money orders, savings and checking account withdrawals and deposits, cash advances, and loan payments.
  2. Perform debit/credit entries through the bank teller system or manually during contingency situations.
  3. Apply security measures, identifying and reporting irregularities and suspicious transactions as defined in BSA and other requirements.
  4. Maintain cash balances and refer transactions when authorization is needed.
  5. Contribute to branch growth by applying the Sales Culture and OSS Program, achieving goals, and following administrative procedures.
  6. Comply with all related laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Lending, Truth in Savings, US Patriot Act, and Community Reinvestment Act.
  7. Identify customer product and service needs and refer accordingly.
  8. Perform end-of-day balancing and closing, enabling transactions to be sent to the Proof and Transit unit as per the required timetable.
  9. Perform administrative duties including preparing daily transaction documents, money counting, and filing documents.
  10. Complete FINCEN 104, CTR information forms for cash and other transactions as defined in BSA operational procedures.
  11. Comply with all operational activities and procedures related to the scope of responsibility.
  12. Participate in internal and external sales activities.
  13. Support the Sales area by answering phone calls and addressing service situations accordingly.
  14. Perform greeter duties when needed.
  15. Assist the Branch Sales Assistant Manager with administrative tasks, as requested.
  16. Assist branch and Sales and Distribution in special projects and assignments.
  17. Participate in PEBO reviews by supporting the Branch Sales Assistant Manager in gathering required information.

What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of six (6) months of working experience in a sales or customer service environment.
  • Twenty-four (24) credits toward an Associate’s or Bachelor’s or Banking course or Technical Course.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Experience working with cash registers preferred.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Fully bilingual preferred.
  • Computer literate in the use of MS Office, Internet, and Banking tools.
  • Available to work holidays, weekends, and flexible schedules, and available to be transferred to other branches within the geographical area.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask while evaluating, reacting, and performing quickly and error-free.
