General Description of the Job Class
The Senior Marketing, Communications and Public Relations Specialist leads and coordinates the implementation of promotional ideas and activities in support of a comprehensive marketing, communications and/or public relations plan to publicize and promote DUHS activities, programs and growth for general and specialized audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
- Participate in the planning and coordinating of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program.
- Develop and implement promotional ideas and activities, coordinating staff for maximum effectiveness.
- Foster positive relationships with external contacts.
- Obtain, analyze and prepare promotional and informational items for publication and circulation in the mass media.
- Represent DUHS to local, national, and international media.
- Develop and plan promotional programs to publicize DUHS activities and events.
- Coordinate corporate communication strategy, planning and implementation.
- Write, produce and distribute communication tools.
- Provide communication support for special events and DUHS initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness, investigate trends, and recommend modifications.
- Represent assigned programs on behalf of the department.
- Oversee marketing and public relations projects.
- Write, edit and coordinate assigned marketing tactics including brochures and promotional materials.
- Oversee the logistics and processing of print and broadcast advertising placements.
- Develop, edit and maintain assigned DUHS web pages.
- Monitor DUHS social media sites and maintain an interactive flow of content.
- Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress and recommendations.
- Coordinate media relations activities for DUHS.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Business or a related field is required.
Experience: Two Years of directly related experience is required.
