Door County Knock is an independent, nonprofit news organization covering Door County, Wisconsin. Knock reports stories on the issues, institutions, and decision-makers that affect residents’ lives — including coverage of our county government — as well as in-depth reporting on economic and social issues such as affordable housing, child care, mental health, addiction, and development.
OPEN POSITION
Location: Egg Harbor, Wisconsin
Beat: Accountability reporting on economic disparities and health and human services issues in Door County.
Position: The reporter on the accountability beat will produce enterprise stories on the growing economic disparities and health-related issues in Door County, which has 30,000 year-round residents and is a major tourism destination facing severe shortages of affordable housing and child care.
Salary and Benefits:
$40,000
Benefits include a $3,000 health stipend (in lieu of health insurance), flexible/from-home work, a flexible vacation policy that allows reporters to take time off when needed without setting a specific limit, and travel reimbursement.
