Instructional Associate - Visual and Performing Arts
This is a part-time temporary position, with a maximum of 19.5 hrs. per week. Flexibility is required as part-time work schedules may vary based on individual campus/departmental needs including evenings and weekends.

Job Summary
Reporting to the assigned campus leader, the Instructional Associate is responsible for performing instructional tasks in a laboratory setting and assisting students through tutoring and teaching.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Maintains and checks out to students, equipment used for field production.
- Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids and materials.
- Maintains software on lab computers and liaises with Academic Computing for lab workstations.
- Provides secretarial duties for program bids and purchase orders, program recordkeeping for files and advisory committee minutes.
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Researches equipment for purchases.
- Delegates work duties to work-study student assistants.
- Previews, orders, and maintains inventories of equipment, instructional materials and supplies.
- Plans, prepares, develops, and maintains various teaching aids or materials.
Service Excellence
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite.
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC).
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College.
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the assigned campus leader.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with courses in the specialized field and two (2) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one (1) year’s working experience planning and executing community outreach events, including school visits with local ISDs, student engagement activities, and performance promotions.
- At least one (1) year’s working experience promoting visual and performing arts events through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, and community partnerships.
- At least one (1) year’s working experience collecting, organizing, and maintaining contact information for promotion and recruitment purposes, and compiling data to help improve recruitment and promotion strategies for all Visual & Performing Arts departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication.
- Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
