Key job responsibilities

You'll lead the editorial process for AWS Support content, working closely with technical writers, support engineers, and subject matter experts. Your role will involve not just editing, but also shaping the overall content strategy to align with AWS Support objectives and customer needs.

  1. Elevate the quality of our technical content, ensuring it's not just accurate, but also clear, consistent, and audience-focused.
  2. Mentor and guide a team of writers and editors, fostering a culture of excellence in technical communication.
  3. Develop and implement editorial guidelines that set the standard for AWS Support content.
  4. Partner with cross-functional teams to create content that addresses customer pain points and accelerates problem resolution.
  5. Analyze content performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in our knowledge base.

About the team

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  2. Your project management skills are exceptional, allowing you to juggle multiple high-priority projects effortlessly.
  3. You're an expert in building, refining and applying style guides to technical content, ensuring consistency across a large body of work.
  4. You have a deep understanding of how to structure information for maximum clarity and impact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. You have experience with AWS services or cloud technologies.
  2. You've led editorial teams or mentored junior editors and writers.
  3. You're familiar with SEO principles and their application to technical content.
  4. You hold a certification in technical writing or editing.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $178,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
