Position Purpose Responsible for day to day site operation of campus library. Perfom routine clerical duties. Works under supervision of campus principal.
Essential Job Functions Library Program Support
Implement current school library program and create and atmosphere that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of student. Help library patrons use library/media center resources including computers and other equipment Make recommendations for purchases of materials and equipment as needed Student Instructional Support
Provide instruction for students and other library users as needed and help them locate resources Reinforce reading instruction as directed by teachers. Schedule and prepare materials and reserve collection for classroom instructional use Accounting
and Inventory of library
Process, organize, distribute, and maintain inventory of library/media center resources. Clerical Support
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other docments as required. Student Management
Monitor students and maintain appropriate student behavior and an orderly atmospere. Additional Duties: Perform any other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. - Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel). - Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. - Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. - Ability to instruct and manage student behavior - Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required. - Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Qualifications Profile - Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: - High School diploma or equivalent. - Valid Texas eduational aide certificate or the ability to obtain - Prior experience working with students is preferred.
