Essential Functions:
Assists patrons and completes special projects
Assists patrons with locating and using library materials in all formats
Plans and conducts programs, outreach and training for patrons and staff
Leads Library Clerks L/U and Library Pages L/U
Provides high quality customer service
Examples of Duties
Examples of Work:
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Assists patrons in selecting, locating, and using library materials and resources including technology
Provides suggestions regarding book selections
Drives and works on Bookmobile
Presents information to community groups and schools, and directs tours of the library
Prepares new library materials for circulation and reference
Assists with collection maintenance
Plans and conducts programs and training for patrons and staff
Leads, trains and assigns tasks to pages and clerks
Performs Library Page L/U and Library Clerk L/U duties as required
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Communicates with individuals in person and utilizes all types of communication media
Travels to various locations
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping, squatting and climbing
Reviews information in both print and electronic formats
Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 pounds
Operates office and computer equipment and other technology
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Other Minimums:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must work a varied schedule
Must hold appropriate certification from the State of Kentucky (KRS 171.250) within 30 days of employment
Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
