Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $57,750 - $129,800.

We are seeking an innovative social media authority to accelerate the expansion of its award-winning Social Media Center of Excellence to deliver social media strategies and capabilities. The Social Media Strategist will work cross-functionally across business units and customer groups – spanning a mix of established brands with new indications – medical affairs, and paid media teams to craft and enable tailored social media strategies and capabilities supporting customer needs for key business priorities across Lilly.

The Center of Excellence builds valuable channel-specific expertise, processes, innovation, and knowledge-sharing in social media to champion important connections with patients, their loved ones, and care providers and, ultimately help deliver on the company purpose. The Social CoE is a component of Lilly’s broader Digital Engagement Team (joining the Enterprise Website and In-House Search Teams) which collectively crafts and deploys coordinated digital engagement strategies to improve health outcomes and address well-timed business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Self-Starter: Stay up to date with social media trends, new platforms, and ways of working with social networks.
  • Understand market trends associated with current prioritized platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Navigate a highly matrixed organization: Help develop organic social media strategies collaborating with internal social, website, search and media partners to drive business results.
  • Integrate into brand team(s) to understand their strategy, goals and objectives to assist in making recommendations based on social experience.
  • Strategic Execution: Plan and implement social media strategies that correspond with business objectives and drive engagement.
  • Creative Thinking: Develop innovative social media ideas that engage and inform healthcare professionals.

Measurement and Applying Findings:

  • Deliver insights to brands on a monthly or quarterly basis on data from social listening, community managers and other data sources.
  • Apply data to make recommendations for social media execution and uncover chances to improve business results.
  • Partner with brands, data/analytics, media services, web, and search teams to meet or exceed critical metrics.

Risk Management:

  • Attention to detail: Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly regarding compliance and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all Lilly guidelines, good promotional practices, privacy policies, and all other relevant FDA, quality, or process-related policies and procedures.
  • Understand and practice appropriate Marketing and Medical interactions.
  • Ensure content meets Lilly Brand standards and that consumer experience corresponds with the brand promise.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and commitment to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies that govern social media-related activities.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent
  • 4+ years of social media marketing experience and leading the development and execution of social media strategy for brands and/or functional areas
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Demonstrated success in implementing social media campaigns
  • Ability to translate insights and brand strategies into effective marketing campaigns
  • Experience developing and driving pharmaceutical industry content is preferred
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity to effectively resolve problems and identify solutions
  • Consistent record of successfully working with cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills
