Description

Northeastern Music Programs, a PA-based company owned by Menchey Music Service, provides instrumental and classroom music programs to private and parochial schools, grades PreK3 - 8, in the Greater Philadelphia Region and surrounding areas.

We have an immediate need for a passionate and dynamic classroom general music teacher (grades PreK3 - 5) for a part-time, 3 day per week teaching position in Wilmington, Delaware.

Responsibilities

No additional school duties, coverages, or extra responsibilities. At Northeastern Music Programs, we eliminate all the "other stuff" so you can focus on teaching!
  • Teach & Engage: Deliver weekly general music classes for PreK-5th grade students, using diverse teaching methods to meet varying needs and interests.
  • Prepare & Perform: Coordinate at least two student performances annually (Christmas and Spring) and prepare students to showcase their learning.
  • Support Student Growth: Observe and assess student progress in performance, behavior, and social development; provide goal-based learning experiences and individualized support for students with additional needs.
  • Collaborate & Communicate: Partner with parents, staff, and administrators to address student needs and maintain a positive learning environment; utilize resources offered by Northeastern Music Programs to supplement professional performance and development.
  • Manage Records & Curriculum: Maintain accurate student records in compliance with legal and school policy requirements, follow school curriculum guidelines, and uphold professional boundaries and confidentiality.


Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education
  • Current valid teaching certificate
  • Proof of the acquisition and maintenance of all required clearances

Required Skills
  • Ability to create engaging, goal-focused lessons using a variety of teaching methods.
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans and delivery of instruction to the needs of individual students and group classes.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and foster collaboration.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and strong organizational skills.
  • Positive, welcoming demeanor and appreciation for diversity.
  • Proficiency in basic computer functions (e.g., email, Microsoft Word).

Salary
  • Salary determined by credentials, days of service, and experience.
