Sales Engineer, Tek Video-West Coast USA (LA area preferred)

Our Sales Engineers work closely with our Account Managers and play a critical role in establishing credibility and confidence with our prospective customers. Leveraging your technical aptitude to determine and communicate how we can best serve our customer's unique needs, our Sales Engineers evaluate technical requirements, execute compelling demonstrations, and assist with the preparation of proposals. They also act as a trusted advisor to the customer before and after the sale. The Tek Video Sales Engineer will mainly focus on Tek Video sales opportunities but will also assist with other product lines on-premises and Cloud opportunities.

Primary responsibilities and functions include:
  • Prepare and deliver compelling product demonstrations, remotely and on-site.
  • Preparation of proposals, SOW's showing new system deployments and integrations with current systems.
  • Plan and manage proof of concepts.
  • Provide remote & on-site troubleshooting and training
  • Coordinate with Product Management for validating solutions and feature prioritization
  • Specify system architectures, delivering solution demonstrations, managing system implementation and deployment, and providing exceptional customer service
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
  • 8+ years' broadcasting or video production industry experience required (either working in broadcasting or selling to broadcasters). Ideally with 3 years' experience in test and measurement-related solutions selling to large strategic customers and partners
  • Understanding of the practical application and deployment of systems using industry standards such as SMPTE 2022-6, SMPTE 2210-X, PTP, SRT, and NDI
  • Proficiency with SDI test and measurement equipment •Intimate knowledge working with 4K/UHD production solutions & SDR/HDR workflows.
  • Ability to effectively explain to customers evolving industry trends in IP, virtualization, cloud, and service business models
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field preferred but not required (will consider a combination of education and experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience with digital video and audio technology, video servers, compression technology and infrastructure requirements including strong problem-solving skills with these technologies
  • Ability to trouble-shoot IP network, audio, and video problems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technology, product, and application expertise to account sales team, resellers, prospective and current customers
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess a customer's technical needs and match it with the appropriate product/solution
  • Must be comfortable working remotely out of home office
  • Ability to work flexible hours remotely (working with customers in different time zones) and travel as needed with travel of up to 30% of working days
  • Ability to work effectively with sales staff and resellers
  • Telestream/Tektronix product experience desirable
