As a Lead Interior Designer, you will take charge of guiding design teams through the entire design process, ensuring that our projects meet the high standards and values of our company. Your expertise will help us deliver outstanding design solutions to our clients while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and management for the design team to ensure successful project execution.
Mentor junior and intermediate designers to enhance their skills and career growth.
Effectively represent and promote our studio's brand through all client and project interactions.
Oversee the production of essential project materials to effectively present and sell design concepts.
Produce high-quality design sketches, elevations, presentation materials, construction documents, and detailed specifications.
Ensure projects align with design intent and client expectations.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors, providing analytical feedback to achieve project goals.
Participate in site visits, client meetings, and project installations, with travel as required.
Maintain organized project documentation, including meeting notes and drawings, according to office standards.
Manage proposals and procurement processes to adhere to budget and timeline requirements.
Strategize and negotiate within project production to uphold the studio's design vision.
Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and design events to keep our practice cutting-edge.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and explore new partnerships for unique sourcing opportunities.
Essential Skills:
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior design role at a contemporary residential design firm.
Deep understanding of residential interior architecture and design industry standards.
Outstanding customer service, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong leadership and management abilities.
Education in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
Experience with Studio Designer software or similar tools.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
Experience negotiating contracts with service providers and contractors.
In-depth knowledge of upholstery, custom furnishings, lighting, drapery, and installation methods.
A robust network within the high-end design industry, including galleries and sources.
Experience sourcing contemporary, custom, vintage, and antique furnishings.
A passion for collaborative, solution-driven design approaches.
