Salary: This is a full-time 12 month position at 232 days with an annual starting salary of $61,985. This is a project based funded position with an end date of August 31, 2026.
Primary Purpose:
To design graphics for print and digital media that adhere to brand standards for the Texas Education Agency's Texas Special Education Support project and topics. This is a project based funded position.
Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Education/Certificates): Bachelor's degree preferred
Three to five years of work-related experience
Knowledge/Skills: Experience designing and producing material for print, digital, and web environments
Experience managing multiple projects and perspectives to reach and exceed project goals
Experience in developing designs that translate the client vision into tangible products and visuals
Working knowledge of trends, processes and techniques related to graphic design, layout, production
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure that assigned tasks and expectations are met
Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
Working knowledge of best practices in document layout and formatting styles for complex content
Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office (specifically creating templates)
Working knowledge of Adobe fonts
Meticulous attention to detail within a fast-paced, high-quality, high-standards environment
Major Responsibilities: Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
Design graphics for print and digital media from inception to completion: compiling and organizing content, developing a flexible structure/interface, branding, proofreading, production, and publication
Develop and follow branding and identity systems and style guides
Create template packages including, but not limited to, flyers, and presentation decks
Create and develop conference collateral (e.g., conference programs, signage, templates, advertising and marketing assets)
Create and apply formatting styles to complex content
Modernize existing publications with updated branding
Update publication text with suggested grammatical and spelling edits
Create data visualizations
Collaborate on asset development for social media and marketing campaigns
Incorporate accessibility standards into designs
Work with print vendors for quality assurance of printed material
Collaborate with department workgroups for graphic design needs (i.e., printshop, online learning, multimedia, marketing)
Collaborate with other designer(s) on the same project/product
Serve as a representative of the Center, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public.
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any direct reports, but may provide general direction to others. There may be a need to train new staff members.
