Inter-Orient Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Customs Entry Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working at a Customs Brokerage for 2-5 years.
Duties
- Clear shipments & filing entry for importers and work with U.S. Customs and other government agencies.
- Handle classification, billing & delivery orders.
- Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and follows FDA regulations (if applicable).
- Working with other members of the team and other depts to ensure shipments are cleared, invoiced and arranged for delivery.
- Tracking and tracing of shipments with carriers, freight forwarders and CFS on the availability of imported shipment.
- Provide customers with US Customs updates.
- Assist in other work-related responsibilities as required by the company

Qualifications
- 2-5 years or more experience working with a customs broker/freight forwarder.
- Familiarity with industry-specific topics such as sales, FDA regulations, freight, EDI, contract, NVOCC, Logistics, price, customer relationship management, and transportation.
- Experience in classification of cargo from commercial documents, and referencing cargo with U.S. Customs.
- Current knowledge of the General Rules of Interpretation, HTSUS, and binding rulings.
- Broker license is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
