Our Large Commercial Lines Carrier Marketing team is expanding to support current and planned growth. This role is an extension of our risk advisors in the placement of business with carriers to ensure our clients are protected from all things risk. We are seeking individuals with a minimum of five years middle to large market commercial insurance carrier placement experience of new and renewal business.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to our agency's sales goals through placement of new and renewal business.
  • Strategize new business accounts presented to the marketing department by our Risk Advisors.
  • Work with Risk Advisors and clients to gather information and obtain data to effectively build marketing submissions.
  • Complete applications with Risk Advisors as assigned and generate proposals.
  • Send complete marketing submissions to carriers and drive negotiation with carriers.
  • Evaluate risk and ensure placement of business meets client needs with appropriate coverages and carriers.
  • Review current coverages to evaluate gaps and/or deficiencies in prospect/client plans.
  • Input information and rate on line with various carriers as needed.
  • Create marketing results spreadsheet and update with carrier responses.
  • Evaluate carrier quotes, comparisons, coverages and premiums as assigned.
  • Build proposal exhibits, spreadsheets and other presentation materials.
  • Utilize agency management system for daily activities, pipeline coordination, managing marketing activity logs, documentation and other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in carrier meetings to build relationships, stay current of offerings and programs, make recommendations for continued collaboration, growth, and sustainability.
  • Remain relevant and continuously learn to and current with industry trends and the marketplace - distribute/share with our organization as appropriate.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to keep new and/or renewal business strategic plans and timelines on track towards finalizing proposals and presentations.
  • Participate in Organic Growth meetings.
  • Work on projects and other work as assigned

Desired Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial underwriting, coverages, carrier systems, and client facing abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills - oral, written, listening, presentation, resolving conflict, etc.

  • Proven history of positive carrier relationships (marketers, underwriters, etc.) and ability to get things done with them.

Qualifications
  • Minimum five years commercial insurance (middle to large market) marketing experience working with Risk Advisors, carriers, and clients.
  • Property & Casualty license required.
  • Possession of, or in pursuit of, professional insurance designations a plus.


General Working Conditions
  • Fast paced office environment.
  • Limited travel to client venues, network and carrier events, other venues, etc. required.
  • Ability to view computer monitors for extended periods of time.
