Are you a current student or recent graduate passionate about Los Angeles’ civic affairs, urban planning, transportation, infrastructure, and the green economy? VerdeXchange and The Planning Report invite you to join our team as a paid Intern/Associate Editor at our Downtown LA office! This role is hybrid, with at minimum, one in-person day per week at our DTLA office.

Who we are:

VerdeXchange (VX): VerdeXchange is an influential clean and green tech "market-makers" conference that connects industry leaders and innovators to drive the global clean energy economy forward. Beyond the annual event, we publish VX News, a quarterly publication spotlighting cutting-edge developments and market trends in clean energy and sustainability.

The Planning Report (TPR): TPR is Los Angeles' premier publication covering urban planning, land use, and public infrastructure. For decades, we’ve amplified the voices of policymakers, developers, architects, and thought leaders shaping LA’s built environment.

Responsibilities:

As an integral part of our team, you’ll contribute to both VerdeXchange and The Planning Report by:

Supporting the VerdeXchange Conference

  • Transcribing exclusive interviews with leading policymakers and innovators.
  • Crafting and updating engaging conference marketing materials and website content.
  • Driving social media engagement to expand our reach.
  • Gaining hands-on experience in publishing, marketing, and event coordination while working alongside influential leaders in LA’s civic and green sectors.
  • Participating in team calls and logistical meetings while assisting in conference planning.

Producing The Planning Report

  • Transcribing and editing interviews with top officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Researching breaking news and key developments in planning and policy.
  • Growing our audience through creative social media strategies.
  • Assisting with newsletter production and distribution.

Qualifications:

We value passion, adaptability, and a drive to learn. Prior experience with the following tools and platforms is highly desirable: Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Mailchimp, Cvent, and Social Media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram). A strong interest in Los Angeles’ civic issues, planning, sustainability, and public policy will make this role particularly rewarding.

If you’re ready to contribute to LA’s green and civic discourse while developing your skills, we’d love to hear from you! Send your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your qualifications and interest to cletmon@ablinc.net.
