Portland Public Schools: Long Term Substitute Music Teacher (part-time)
Portland Public Schools seeks innovative and passionate education substitutes to join our team to work as a long term substitute at St. Patrick’s from February 4, 2025 through March 31, 2025. Daily stipend of $220 for certified substitute or $180 for non-certified substitute.
The desired candidate would possess the following attributes:
- Knowledge of MTSS and PBIS to support student needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Willingness to coach or serve as an advisor for extracurricular activities including developing programs.
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning practices.
- Ability to handle complex and stressful issues or situations with sound judgment, common sense, and a calm demeanor.
- Impeccable character, a good sense of humor, and compassion for students, families, and staff.
Eligible candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Possess a valid Michigan Teacher’s Certificate or Substitute Permit.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess student learning.
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes.
- Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement.

Reports to: Elementary School Principal
Compensation: In accordance with agreement between Portland Public Schools and PCMI willSub.
