UNFOLD Media is a small-but-mighty agency specializing in media strategy, planning + buying, and performance marketing. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Managing Director excited by the opportunity of growing the agency’s capabilities and building it into a powerhouse media company.

Role Overview:

The Managing Director is a multifaceted role, encompassing strategic, operational, and leadership responsibilities. He/she will be tasked with finding and executing opportunities that will drive top-line revenue while maximizing profitability and will oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of all agency staffing and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  1. Vision and Strategy: Develop and articulate a clear vision and long-term strategy for the company's growth and digital presence.
  2. Market Analysis: Analyze agency landscape trends, industry insights, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
  3. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams; instrumental in leading the RFP process for the agency.
  4. Cross Department Collaboration: Identify and foster collaboration between the media department and other departments such as social, digital product, creative production.

Operational Management

  1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a diverse team of media professionals, including media strategists + planners, buyers, and analysts.
  2. Project Management: Oversee the day-to-day operational requirements of planning, execution, and delivery of digital media projects, ensuring they align with the company’s goals and budget.
  3. Budget Management: Oversee the team’s development and management of budgets for different projects and departments, ensuring financial efficiency and accountability.

Client and Stakeholder Relations

  1. Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
  2. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with agency owners and executive leadership regarding company performance, strategic initiatives, and opportunities.

Leadership and Culture

  1. Company Culture: Foster a positive and innovative company culture that encourages creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.
  2. Talent Development: Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for training and career advancement.

Innovation and Best Practices

  1. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in paid media.
  2. Tools and Processes: Introduce innovative strategies and tools to find efficiencies and drive growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in paid media, with a proven track record of scaling campaigns and driving growth.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing teams and cross-functional projects in an agency setting.
  • Expertise in major paid media platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn, etc.) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven track record of building high-functioning teams; possesses an inspiring and entrepreneurial spirit.
