POSITION: Alumni and Donor Marketing Operations ManagerDEPARTMENT: Office of University AdvancementREPORTS TO: Assistant Vice President, University AdvancementWORK SCHEDULE: Hybrid Work SchedulePRIMARY FUNCTION:The Alumni and Donor Marketing Operations Manager reports to the Assistant Vice President of University Advancement. This is a dynamic and strategic role within the Office of University Advancement, focused on driving engagement and support from alumni and donors. This individual will oversee all marketing and communication efforts to ensure impactful and personalized outreach that strengthens relationships with key stakeholders.Key responsibilities include leading social media strategy and execution to amplify campaigns, events, and announcements in collaboration with University Marketing, as well as managing communication workflows and targeted messaging through Raiser's Edge. The manager will coordinate and analyze email and direct mail campaigns, ensuring their effectiveness and optimizing performance. Additionally, this role will assist in developing a student phone outreach program and provide insights on annual giving performance, leveraging data to guide future strategies.This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and results-driven individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, has strong analytical skills, and is passionate about creating meaningful connections with alumni and donors.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree required.3-5 years of professional experience required; marketing and/or agency experience is preferred.Strong preference for candidates with experience in fundraising, integrated marketing strategy and management, data analytics, and professional writing.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.Key Competencies:Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Data-centric focus with the ability to leverage our CRM system to interpret and analyze marketing performance across various segments and target groups.Solid understanding of philanthropy and its role within higher education.Proven discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail and an ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences, both internally and externally.Experience in cultivating and managing relationships with alumni, donors, prospects, or clients.Social media and direct mail production management experience required.Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.Experience with integrated client database systems (e.g., CRM platforms) is preferred.Professional Attributes:Professional demeanor, appearance, and decision-making skills.Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary to support events and initiatives.Core CompetenciesOrganizational Excellence: Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.Communication Proficiency: Exhibits exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with diverse audiences.Judgment and Confidentiality: Uses sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.Team Collaboration: Thrives in a team-oriented environment, fostering cooperation and shared success.ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Leadership:With supervisor, develop and execute social media strategies, plans, and content (including copywriting).Collaborate closely with University Marketing to amplify Advancement campaigns, events, announcements, and initiatives.Communication Strategy and Workflow Management:Oversee and implement targeted communication workflows in Raiser's Edge for alumni, donor, and prospect segments.Ensure timely, relevant, and personalized outreach to key audiences.Mass Communication Oversight:Manage the production, distribution, and performance tracking of all email and direct mail campaigns for alumni, donors, and prospective donors.Provide performance analysis and recommendations for optimization.Direct Mail Coordination:Collaborate with Point Park Printing Services to design and produce impactful mailings tailored to alumni and donor segments.Student Outreach Support:Assist in developing and managing an in-house student phone outreach program, fostering engagement with alumni and donors.Performance Analysis and Reporting:Analyze annual giving performance across alumni and donor segments, assessing ROI across marketing channels.Use data insights to inform future strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.
