Job Overview
The Senior Graphic Designer is an experienced professional responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and supporting the Primary Arms Marketing design team by creating compelling digital and print media to drive marketing efforts. The role includes developing email and website banners, physical mailers, flyers, catalogs, business cards, and packaging, as well as managing advanced projects from concept to completion. Expertise in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop is essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously. PORTFOLIO REQUIRED.
 
Responsibilities and Duties

Creative Design & Conceptualization
  • Deliver graphic and typographic design solutions for a variety of media, including digital and print media, landing pages, brochures, product packaging, tradeshow booths, social media content and more.
  • Generate and develop innovative design concepts and presentations to meet marketing objectives.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on other designers’ work to maintain high-quality standards.

Project Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead projects from initial briefing to final production, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with brand guidelines.
    • Collaborate closely with the Creative Manager to plan production schedules and manage project priorities.
    • Act as a liaison between marketing partners, providing creative and technical advice and guidance.
       
Advanced Design Responsibilities
    • Build mock-up art for conceptual reviews and produce master digital templates.
    • Design and implement responsive/mobile designs for digital platforms.
    • Identify, select, and manage vendor relationships for printing services.
       
Strategic & Analytical Contributions
    • Proactively research market trends and customer preferences to create targeted and effective designs.
    • Compile and prepare graphic production budgets, schedules, and work plans.
       
Leadership & Training
    • Supervise and train junior design staff, providing mentorship to foster skill development.
    • Delegate tasks effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
Additional Duties
    • Ensure consistent adherence to brand and style guidelines across all projects.
    • Stay updated with emerging design trends and tools to enhance creative outputs.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining an organized digital asset library for the team.
 
Skills and Qualifications

Technical Proficiency
    • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash).
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook).
    • Familiarity with web content management systems and responsive design principles.
       
Creative and Analytical Skills
    • Strong sense of composition, typography, color theory, layout, and grid systems.
    • Drawing skills preferred but not required.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
       
Experience & Education
    • Minimum of 5 years of creative experience or 3 years in a lead designer role.
    • Associate’s or higher degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
Soft Skills
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
       
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of firearms and related markets.


Relationships

Work collaboratively with Creative Manager, Marketing Team, Merchandising Team, Email Team, Technology Team, Optics and Government Division Teams to align deliverables with broader marketing goals.
