Department Title: Undergrad Intern - Digital Marketing Optimization

Location: The intern candidate must be able to commute into the San Mateo, San Ramon, or Rancho Cordova, CA office each week.

Position Summary:

The Digital Marketing Optimization team operates like special ops, identifying opportunities and spearheading initiatives to enhance the digital experience for our clients, salespeople and marketing specialists. Our mission is to bring key strategic opportunities to fruition, leveraging cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights in order to ensure Franklin Templeton is at the forefront of innovation.

We're always working on exciting strategic initiatives like bringing AI to our partners or implementing digital accessibility across our vast global web and mobile app offering. As an intern, you'll get hands-on experience with large-scale projects that drive significant change and benefit. A Digital Optimization Intern at Franklin Templeton can expect to gain:

High-Level Strategy Creation: You'll learn how to develop comprehensive strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. This includes understanding market trends, identifying opportunities for growth, and creating actionable plans to achieve desired outcomes

Detailed Execution and Implementation: You'll gain hands-on experience in executing and implementing strategies. This involves planning, project management, and ensuring that all aspects are carried out effectively

Collaboration Across Teams: You'll have the opportunity to work with multiple teams, including marketing, technology, data, AI, and more. This will help you understand how different departments collaborate to achieve common goals and how to leverage diverse expertise to drive projects forward

Analytical Thinking and Data-Supported Decisions: You'll develop strong analytical skills and learn how to make data-supported decisions. This includes analyzing data to identify trends, measure performance, and make informed recommendations

Innovation and Digital Transformation: You'll be involved in projects that will give you insights into how innovative technologies can transform business processes and improve customer experiences

Communication and Change Management: You'll learn how to effectively communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes to various stakeholders. Additionally, you'll gain experience in managing change within the organization, ensuring that new initiatives are smoothly integrated and adopted by the team.

Given the project-based nature of our work, exact responsibilities will vary depending on the stage of our initiatives. Examples of responsibilities:

Competitive Research: Conduct research to understand the behavior of competitors and industry trends to identify best practice.

Process Documentation: Document existing processes and workflows. Identify areas for improvement and suggest enhancements to streamline operations.

Creation of Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements for new projects and initiatives. Ensure that requirements are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with the company's goals.

Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, measure performance, and support decision-making. Use data-driven insights to inform strategies and recommendations.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience using Excel: Proficient in organizing and analyzing data using Excel, including the use of formulas and pivot tables to derive insights and support decision-making.
  • Experience creating PowerPoint slides: Skilled in creating engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations tailored to various audience types, ensuring clarity and impact
  • Confident communicator: Not afraid to speak up and share alternative opinions, contributing to discussions with confidence and clarity
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills: Ability to think both analytically and creatively to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to work independently: Capable of working independently and efficiently in a remote environment, managing time effectively and meeting deadlines

Compensation Range: This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 37.5 hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $26-$30 USD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
