Inspire creativity, critical thinking, and design excellence both within the team and externally. Conceptualize building designs from both functional and aesthetic perspectives, aligning with client requirements, budgets, and project programs. Develop designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express design intent and communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and building user groups. Utilize BIM technologies to create three-dimensional models of buildings and their components. Participate in design critiques and pin-ups. Present designs to stakeholders during early project phases and develop building designs in accordance with cost parameters. Develop space planning, block planning, and adjacency diagrams in coordination with the building program. Evaluate and select building systems and materials. Coordinate building systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent. Integrate sustainable design principles into the project and overall environment. Analyze site conditions, including geotechnical, hydrological, environmental, social, economic, and contextual factors. Participate in the development of project programs and other pre-design activities. Ensure design intent is preserved through documentation and construction. Lead project teams, conduct design critiques and pin-ups, and support others in achieving design excellence. Contribute to employee performance reviews and participate in interviews for potential team members.Skills and Credentials: 8+ years of professional experience. Experience working within the PK-12 market is highly preferred. Client-focused, highly organized, and able to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Professional degree in architecture from an accredited program. LEED accreditation is preferred.
