Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering design and a passion for creating innovative solutions to Engineering problems.  The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the design, development, and documentation of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and GD&T. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Create and execute Engineering Change orders with accurate and up to date documentation per ISO procedures.
  • Create and maintain material Item Masters in ERP System.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, stack-ups, and GD&T application.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
  • Maintain accurate and organized design documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design standards and process developments.
  • Stay current with the latest SolidWorks features and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Engineering Drafting & Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer using SolidWorks.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assembly design, and detail drafting. (SolidWorks certification is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including statics, dynamics, and strength of materials.
  • Proficiency in GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes (machining, injection molding, casting, etc.).
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Windchill) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
The estimated annual salary for this role is between $60,000 and $80,000. Actual compensation is determined based upon a variety of job related factors that may include: transferable work experience, skill sets, and qualifications. These factors could mean the actual annual salary falls slightly above our below the estimated range. Total compensation also includes a comprehensive benefit package, including: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), profit sharing, paid time off, life insurance, short and long term disability coverages, and others for mental and wellness support.
