Ready to love your job?

Becker’s has been in business for 97 years.  We learned a lot in those years.  We know the happier our employees are, the happier our customers are.  So, while we are helping educators build bright futures for their students, we are also building bright futures for our own people.

Wear your hoodie.

The Becker Family has been leading our company since our founding.  Now, with the 4th generation in management, we continue to demonstrate a sense of belonging, and we believe in coaching our employees, whom we consider family, every step of the way.

We want everyone to grow with us. We let you be yourself and be your best self. We respect you, and we care. Wear what you want and express your individuality.  We show we care in other ways too—competitive pay and comprehensive big-company employee benefits. We offer paid vacation days, paid holidays, and paid time off for volunteering for your favorite causes. We even remember to say thank you.

We’re kind of boring.

We’re kind of boring—but the good kind of boring.  Customers remain with us for decades.  Employees remain with us for decades.  It’s rare we have a full-time opening, but we’re still growing and we’re becoming more sophisticated in our customer reach, so we’re hiring our own in-house photographer.  Go Team Becker!

This job is not for you.

This job is not for you:

If you dislike interesting, challenging, and fast-paced work.

If you want to do the same thing every day, all day.

If you aren’t serious about helping your organization succeed.

If you dislike children, toddlers, infants, or their parents.

If you’re not what your friends would call nice (it’s actually a job requirement at Becker’s that you have to be nice).

As the Becker photographer, you will:

  1. Studio Management: Manage and oversee the photography studio, ensuring it is organized, operational, and safe, including equipment setup, maintenance, and inventory of photography tools and props.
  2. Product and Lifestyle Photography: Capture high-quality images of products in various configurations (e.g., in-package, out-of-package, stylized, lifestyle) in both seamless studio and realistic settings, with products ranging from small items to full classroom setups.
  3. Model Photography: Conduct lifestyle shoots with both adult and child models, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for working with minors.
  4. Creative Campaigns: Develop and execute photographic concepts for marketing campaigns that align with brand guidelines, collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and Education teams to achieve objectives.
  5. Pre- and Post-Production: Plan shoots by organizing shot lists, styling, and sourcing props; execute post-production tasks like clipping paths, color correction, retouching, and file formatting using tools such as Photoshop, Lightroom, or Capture One.
  6. Digital Asset Management: Organize, archive, and maintain a centralized repository of digital assets for easy access by stakeholders.
  7. Image Standards and Compatibility: Ensure all images meet technical and aesthetic standards for print, web, and social media by staying current on file formats, resolutions, and best practices.
  8. Scheduling and Coordination: Manage shoot schedules and logistics, coordinating with external vendors, agencies, models, and stylists to ensure smooth operations.
  9. Additional Content Creation: Photograph internal events, workshops, and employee headshots, support video production projects, and continuously experiment with new styles, compositions, and techniques to innovate.
