Job Title: Full Stack Web Developer

Location: Washington, D.C.

Position Type: Full Time


General Responsibilities:

  1. Web development using open-source web programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., Flask, React, Nuxt)
  2. JavaScript development using modern standards, including strict mode compliance, modularization techniques and tools, and frameworks and libraries (e.g., jQuery, React, Vue, Angular, D3)
  3. Developing and consuming web-based, RESTful APIs
  4. Using and working in team environments that use agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean)
  5. Authoring developer-friendly documentation (e.g., API documentation, deployment operations)
  6. Use of version control systems, specifically Git and GitLab
  7. Quickly researching and learning new programming tools and techniques
  8. Ensuring Section 508 Compliance
  9. Relational and non-relational database systems
  10. Scalable search technology (e.g. ElasticSearch, Solr)
  11. Handling large data sets and scaling their handling and storage
  12. Using and working with open-source solutions and community

EDUCATION:

  1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

EXPERIENCE Desired:

  1. Experience using modern web development tools, techniques, and methods for the creation and deployment of user-facing interfaces and backend web applications, including all aspects of server-side processing, data storage, and integration.
  2. Comfortable working in an agile and lean environment to routinely deploy changes.
  3. Capable of working independently to build functional, secure, and accessible web applications from conception to production deployment.
  4. 5+ years of related experience required.
