Marketing Coordinator – Events

to amplify the club’s presence in San Diego’s vibrant community. In partnership with the Sycuan Tribe and the groundbreaking Right to Dream model, we’re building a soccer organization that celebrates San Diego’s spirit and honors its cultural heritage. In this critical role, you’ll work directly with the Marketing Manager of Events to design, execute, and assess high-impact events that bring San Diego FC’s mission to life. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting mark on the club’s inaugural 2025 season, while strengthening San Diego FC’s brand and deepening its connection with the community. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Event Planning & Execution:

Assist in the creation and execution of impactful events that connect San Diego FC with the 18 cities of San Diego. Your role will focus on supporting event planning across all stages of the planning cycle and ensuring that events align with the club's brand and community-building goals, while helping create memorable experiences for our season ticket members and fans alike. Event Scheduling & Coordination:

Manage the annual events calendar and assist with all logistical aspects throughout the planning process. This includes coordinating run-of-show details, organizing on-site part-time staff, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring smooth execution on event day. On-Site Leadership:

Oversee event set-up and breakdown, ensuring all event elements—from tents to banners and branding—are properly set up. You'll play an essential role on event days, assisting with operations to ensure events run seamlessly from start to finish. Community Engagement:

Assist in the execution of marketing initiatives designed to boost attendance, drive ticket sales, and enhance community involvement. Your creative outreach strategies and local connections will help expand San Diego FC’s visibility in the community. Post-Event Evaluation:

Work closely with the Marketing Manager to assess event success by gathering feedback, reviewing key metrics, and contributing to post-event analysis. Your insights will help refine future event strategies and contribute to ongoing improvements and event success. ESSENTIAL EVENT PLANNING SKILLS: Logistics Management:

Support the coordination of various event components, such as vendors, venue setups, and materials, to ensure everything is on track and on schedule. Attention to Detail:

Ensure all aspects of the event are carefully planned and executed, from guest lists to materials, to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Problem Solving & Adaptability:

Be proactive and quick to adapt to last-minute changes or unexpected challenges, maintaining a calm and efficient approach to problem-solving during event execution. Team Support & Communication:

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring open and clear communication to align with event goals and timelines. Creativity & Innovation:

Contribute fresh ideas for event themes, activations, and fan engagement that will enhance the overall event experience and make a lasting impact on attendees. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience:

2+ years of experience in event coordination or marketing, with a proven ability to assist in the successful execution of events. Skills:

Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Passion for Soccer & San Diego:

A deep appreciation and knowledge of soccer and a genuine enthusiasm for connecting with the San Diego community. Flexibility:

Willingness to work outside of regular business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed for events. Tech-Savvy:

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Slack, and Asana for planning, reporting, and collaboration. Language Skills:
