Summary Key strategic R&D leader accountable for developing and commercializing Professional innovation that delivers competitively advantaged solutions that delight the customer. The scope of this role is end-to-end: from front-end innovation to development, commercialization, and life cycle maximization. This role reports to the VP, North America Family Care Consumer & Professional R&D and is based in Roswell, GA. What You’ll Do (Role Purpose) Lead the North America Professional R&D team to deliver innovative solutions in Tissue, Towels, Wipers, Skin Care, and Dispenser Technology. Drive global connectivity, re-application, and talent synergy for professional solutions. Provide strategic leadership for developing, building business cases, and implementing disruptive and transformational technology platforms for the Professional business. Drive ongoing improvements in engineering, process technologies, and materials innovation to transform our portfolio and accelerate sustainable business growth. Manage a team of 70+ experts in Product Development, Process, Materials, and Dispenser Technology. Thrive and lead in a customer-focused, fast-paced, agile B2B environment. Build a strong management team and work with cross-functional Global R&D Teams, Category/Marketing Leaders, Supply Chain, and Procurement. Develop and maintain external partnerships. The Impact You can Make Product Development and Commercialization:
Oversee the creation and pipeline of innovative, sustainable, and cost-advantaged products in Tissue, Towels, Wipers, Skin Care, and Dispensers. Equipment/Dispensing Technology:
Lead the development and implementation of advanced equipment and dispensing solutions to improve product delivery and user experience. Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers and scientists. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback and create opportunities for growth and development. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with R&D leadership, product developers, and cross-functional teams to align on goals and drive initiatives. Technology Integration:
Ensure the integration of new materials and technologies into product development processes. Long-Term Innovation:
Develop and guide long-term innovation pipeline opportunities, focusing on a 3+ year horizon. Pipeline and Technology Integration:
Ensure connectivity between materials and design engineering initiatives and long-term technology development teams. External Partnerships:
Develop and strengthen partnerships with preferred suppliers, universities, and external manufacturing suppliers to enhance innovation capabilities. Culture Transformation:
Foster a culture of open and end-to-end innovation across the organization. Technical Expertise:
Maintain technical and scientific expertise in relevant areas and communicate the impact of developments on Kimberly-Clark. Experiences We’re Looking For Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of 15 years of R&D experience, with at least 10 years of management experience Proven experience building an innovation and material/process technology strategy and pipeline across a portfolio of products that is consumer led and a significant driver of growth over time. Experience working with Tissue or exposure to the Tissue industry is highly preferred. Passion for the customer and consumer and demonstrated ability to turn insights into powerful and meaningful innovation. Proven people leader who inspires teams and builds capability while fostering diversity and inclusivity.
