The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Information Systems Manager.

General Description Establishes, maintains and communicates IT (information technology) procedures, policies, standards and strategic direction related to technical work and data processing systems activities, including systems analysis and programming for an agency. Works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies, and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports. Management of the team of employees specializing in various disciplines of data communications technology. Formulation of Capital Budget projects as related to network edge security, and data communication equipment refresh and expansion. Review and submission of Core and Operating expense as related to communications support and data circuit expense. Oversight for over 75 miles of County private fiber optic network. Architectural and design sessions for expansion and upgrade of the County network. Project lead for Communication needs as related to new construction and renovation. Daily steady-state management of employee requests for assistance. Tertiary support for on-call services as related to Communications Infrastructure. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field. (One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education) Requires four (4) years experience in planning, managing and implementing information system solutions within the infrastructure networking environment or closely related experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience. Special Certifications and Licenses Required May require possession of or eligibility to obtain basic FCIC/NCIC (Florida/National Crime Information Center) certification depending upon area of assignment. Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License based on area of assignment. Preferences One or more Microsoft certifications related to Infrastructure Administration. Two or more Fortinet certifications related to maintenance of Firewall and associated software modules. Two or more Cisco certifications related to Administration of a LAN/WAN network.
