Work Arrangement
The role can be performed hybrid (2x/week) for those based in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, or New York City. We’ll also consider fully remote candidates in the following markets: Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, and Boston, MA.
The Opportunity
Junior account executives (JAEs) play an integral role across multiple client accounts and provide guidance for public relations associates (PRAs) and graduate associates (GAs). JAEs are hands-on team members with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of public relations. They are also strong communicators committed to actively developing their account management skills. In this role, you will provide exceptional and consistent work for both the agency and the clients we work with.
Responsibilities
Account Support
Provide daily support for SAEs and AEs across all client accounts
Execute and demonstrate Method’s Concierge Service Delivery Approach to your clients and teams
Research, outline, write, edit and proofread materials, including media briefings, pitch emails, biographies, reports and fact sheets
Manage deadlines and oversee client speaking and award trackers, drafting speaking and awards submissions
Monitor and evaluate a wide range of reporters and publications in order to provide insight on media trends to internal and external stakeholders
Create coverage reports, develop media pitches and contribute to pitching efforts
Oversee daily/weekly media reports for clients
Work with Cision, TrendKite and other media reporting tools
Coordinate projects and events including inviting media, preparing press kits, attending events, and preparing reports
Build a network of traditional and online media contacts
Business Development and Marketing Support
Participate in new business opportunities across multiple industry landscapes
Develop personal leadership skills and demonstrate PR knowledge
Discover what tools are available, what Method has to offer
Strengthen your knowledge of the intersection between marketing and PR
Learn how to use social media and analytics effectively for clients
Agency Engagement
Understand account budget parameters and over-servicing
Record and submit time and expenses on a timely basis
Act as a mentor to PRA and GAs, identify goals and provide guidance and feedback on performance and help contribute to inter-team cooperation
Demonstrate and support Method’s J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) policy and practices, contributing to and building a culture built on respect, dignity, empathy, and inclusivity. This includes completing the required yearly J.E.D.I. training provided by Method.
What We’re Looking For
Typically 1 - 3 years experience in agency and/or in-house communications or marketing teams experience, preferably with specialized experience in technology-focused PR
Experience working with news media across industry verticals, pitching stories and/or providing targeted outreach to diverse audiences
Interest in pursuing a career in technology-focused public relations
Able to oversee junior team members and successfully manage PRA and GAs across teams to ensure deadlines and project expectations are communicated and met
Familiarity with Google Drive and Google’s suite of tools (e.g., Slides, Docs, Sheets)
Basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
Excellent time management, project management and organizational skills
Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills

Salary Ranges
We believe all employees should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. We’ve provided the following salary ranges for the locations we operate in below due to their state regulations. If your market is not listed below, your specific salary band will be discussed during the recruitment process. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location.
State of New York: $59,029 - $73,267
New York City: $71,890 - $87,650.
State of California: $52,415 - $77,128
San Francisco, CA: $75,443 - $85,636
Salt Lake City, UT: $48,238 - $57,036
State of Washington: $52,336 - $61,870
Work Arrangement
The role is hybrid (two days per week) at one of our hub offices in New York City, San Francisco, or Salt Lake City.
