About the Role
The Associate Designer, Women’s Apparel will be responsible for the development of Ariat women’s apparel. This position, with key partners, will ensure that assigned products meet company standards for performance, fit, function, and aesthetics. Position will report to the VP, Apparel Design and Development, collaborate with senior designers, senior tech designers and materials managers. Products must be built to meet company gross margin objectives and product managed to meet the departmental line calendar.
You’ll Make a Difference by Building tech packs, consisting of BOM and technical sketches, using Adobe Illustrator and Centric PLM system Partnering with designer and technical designer to identify block measurements Preparing development requests for new sundries, labels, branding elements, etc. Collaborating with materials team for materials selection, development and labdip management Attending fit sessions and reviewing prototypes/sales samples. Evaluating wash, workmanship, construction, fit, and function with tech designer Updating tech sketches as needed Managing visual line sheet – must be accurately managed for development and marketing functions Monitoring all aspects of development to ensure development calendar deliverables are met Coordinating with tech designer, materials manager, and quality assurance to identify and ensure all products, materials, and components have been tested and approved Assisting in designing into CLO system Providing support for SMU design as needed Assisting with miscellaneous projects including line presentation, sales meeting preparation, and other duties as assigned
About You 1-3 years women’s fashion design and development experience Exceptional communication skills-verbal, written, and able to communicate visually (i.e. photographs, diagrams, sketches, etc). Motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and performs well in a team environment Ability to understand and design for multiple consumer segments, with the end consumer in mind Detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and work independently of supervision Responsive to feedback and capable of adapting quickly to change Proficient use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office, Word and Excel PLM and CLO experience a plus Ability to travel periodically as needed

The hourly range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations.
