About the Company
Our client is a leader in the Plastic Injection Molding industry specializing in Medical Device and other custom manufactured parts.
We are currently looking for a Senior Tool and Mold Designer to ensure that the quality processes are strategically aligned with the company as a whole and external clients' needs.
Salary: $100k - $120k
Responsibilities
•
Participate in design and process review to ensure correct specifications for each project.
•
Develop manufacturing procedures; tooling, fixtures, and process to meet customer expectations.
•
Develop and maintain tooling Preventative Maintenance processes and schedules.
•
Develop tooling standards; interact with off-shore, local, and other divisions for tooling needs.
•
Engineering Change Management; estimating costs, vendor selection, and scheduling.
•
Update and maintain customer tooling audits.
•
Work with Program Management supporting requirements related to NPD/NPI projects.
•
Owns the CAD file management for Tooling including file revisions and updates. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience within the manufacturing industry. Required Skills
•
5+ years’ experience in Plastics Injection Molding manufacturing environment.
•
Proficient in CAD, including but not limited to Mold Designs and SolidWorks.
•
Knowledge of DFM, hot runners, collapsible cores, unscrewing mechanism, valve gates, molding, and over molding plastics.
•
Knowledge of post-molding operations such as: ultrasonic welding, assembly, pad printing, laser marking, machining, etc.
•
Experience with reversed engineering, analysis, and overlapping 3D files.
•
Able to manage multiple projects and meet defined deliverables.
•
Understanding of scientific molding and validation protocols using IQ, OQ, PQ.
•
Limited physical effort, able to carry at least 50 lbs.
•
Travel +/- 15%
•
