Digital Advertising Advisor and Senior Sales Executive

Position Overview:
Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation (RMSMC) is looking for a full-time Digital Advertising Advisor and Senior Sales Executive to join our college student media team. The ideal candidate will manage digital ad production and sales, optimize ad performance, and offer strategic guidance to both student staff and clients to drive revenue growth. This role also includes direct sales for both our digital and traditional media offerings.
Key Responsibilities: •
Student Advisory Role:
Provide guidance and training to RMSMC’s four to six college student digital strategists. Train and coach them on digital advertising trends, analytics, campaign reporting, best practices, and opportunities for career growth. This includes supervising student staff, setting goals, leading weekly training sessions, and conducting staff performance reviews. • Senior Sales Executive:
Oversee a portfolio of established advertising clients while actively seeking new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and relationship building. Develop and manage advertising and marketing campaigns, consult with clients, and recommend tailored media solutions to meet their needs. • Digital Advertising Strategy:
Develop and implement social media and other digital product strategies that maximize income and the return on investment for our clients. • Ad Campaign Management:
Plan, launch, and monitor digital ad campaigns across various platforms (e.g., Broadstreet, Google Ads, Meta, etc.) to ensure optimal performance. • Revenue Optimization:
Continuously analyze ad performance metrics, such as click-through rates, reach, conversion rates, and revenue, to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to maximize ad revenue. • Digital Ad Operations:
Oversee ad operations, including ad placement, ad serving, and ad inventory management, to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of ads across digital platforms and websites. • Performance Reporting:
Generate regular reports on ad performance, revenue trends, and key metrics to track progress and inform decision-making.
Required Qualifications: •
Minimum of three years of experience in digital advertising and sales, preferably within a media or publishing setting. •
Comprehensive knowledge of digital advertising platforms and tools, including Google Ads & Meta Business Manager. •
Proficiency with project management and communication tools such as Monday.com, Slack, and Mailchimp (or comparable platforms). •
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. •
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage projects effectively in a fast-paced environment. •
Willingness to attend networking events and training sessions, with confidence in public speaking and presenting to groups.
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related field. • Knowledge of programmatic advertising platforms and website-based digital ad management software. • Familiar with trends, regulations, and best practices in digital advertising. •
Strong analytical abilities with expertise in evaluating and interpreting advertising performance metrics.
Salary, Benefits, and Work Hour Requirements: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, with most hours spent in the office. The total expected annual salary ranges from $45,000 to $60,000. This includes a base salary of $35,000 to $45,000 (depending on experience) and an anticipated $10,000 to $15,000 in commissions.
The position offers generous vacation and sick leave benefits, a 9% company contribution to retirement plans after a three-year waiting period, and 100% employer-paid individual health and dental insurance if needed.
