Technical Designer (Mid-Level)
will need to possess excellent team skills and basic garment fit and construction knowledge. The person who fills this position also needs to have a passion for the work they do and a strong desire to learn and grow.

As a
Denim Technical Designer , you would be responsible for:
Posting design sheets onto the FTP site and notify vendors for costing. Create and update technical packets in PLM, ensuring that all details are commercially viable with the factories and are the most cost-effective. Review contractors' samples and/or paper patterns for design accuracy and integrity. Execute design and fit intent into bulk production while maintaining corporate standards. Manage execution of fit from style creation to production approval while ensuring deadlines are met. Ensure consistency in size and fit within the brand and across product categories. Ensure availability of fit models. Lead fit sessions and take the initiative as the fit expert of specific products. Communicate fit comments to overseas and domestic vendors in a timely manner. Collaborate with team members and cross-functional team members to gain clear direction and consensus of fit intent. Collaborate with team and cross-functional teams on the creation of style to establish the initial specifications and construction details. Foster open communication and team environment with all business partners. Track and manage workflow and workload for own products. Identify and proactively engage business partners when issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutions. Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings as appropriate. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables you to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. Other tasks assigned.
Requirements: Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. MUST have 3 - 5 years of Denim Bottoms Experience. Proficient knowledge of fabrics, construction, finishes, trims, fitting, washes, and techniques. Proficient knowledge in patternmaking, including grading, construction, and fit. Ability to multi-task: Use the combination of organization, time management, scheduling, and preparation to complete multiple tasks by the established deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to analyze quality and maintain standards with contractors. Ability to produce computer-generated technical sketches. Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and a strong sense of time awareness. Thorough attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Creative approach to problem solving. Team-oriented, entrepreneurial, proactive attitude. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Proficient with Illustrator and have a working knowledge of PhotoShop. The ability to learn new systems and processes is a must.
