About This Role:

This part-time position is designed for college students and entry-level professionals who are passionate about education and have the drive to grow into future leaders in the education industry. The successful candidate will work alongside our Silicon Valley teaching team while also focusing on the operational aspects of our business.

You will have the resources to become a great math educator and provide world-class teaching services to PreK-6th graders of all levels. This role will also give you the chance to participate in Think Academy's business functions including operations and marketing. This position is ideal for those aspiring to become branch directors, department managers, or part of Think Academy's global expansion in emerging markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging lessons in English for elementary level mathematics to our students using Think Academy curriculum (Grade: PreK-G6, Language: English, Format: In-person).
  • Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters a love of mathematics among a class of about 8-16 students.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs by providing personalized assistance to students.
  • Grade homework and provide other related key teaching services.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, achievements, and areas of concern.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences/meetings as needed to discuss student performance.
  • Hold office hours and provide 1-on-1 help.
  • Foster a safe and respectful learning atmosphere for all students.
  • Develop tailored mathematical learning plans for students based on their current abilities and goals.
  • Support daily business operations in marketing and business growth in the Bay Area.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Open to all majors - training and professional growth provided!
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of math concepts and problem-solving techniques. Prior math teaching or general teaching experience is preferred but not required.
  • Passionate about teaching and the education industry, with a mission to provide better education to promote social development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
  • Commitment to teaching for at least one whole semester without interruption (Spring semester: Jan - May; Summer: June - Aug; Fall semester: Aug - Dec).
  • Responsible, reliable, and a team player to effectively collaborate with other teachers and staff.
  • Patient, empathetic, and motivated to inspire students.
  • Available and willing to work during weekday late afternoons and weekends.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to commute to teach in-person at one of our San Jose Cupertino Campuses.
  • $40/hour (teaching fee) + $20/hour (administrative fee) + potential to earn teaching commission!
