9NEWS in Denver is looking for a talented and experienced Reporter and Multi-Skilled Journalist who can hit the ground running while covering news in the rapidly growing Mile High City. The successful candidate will be a positive problem solver who can work quickly to produce compelling daily content for our broadcast and digital platforms. This position will work 3 DAYSIDE SHIFTS/WEEKEND MORNINGS.

Responsibilities:

1. Pitch enterprise and compelling stories
2. Turn content for a daily broadcast and digital platform deadlines
3. Develop contacts and sources within Colorado communities
4. Effective story development and ability to vet
5. Streaming digital assignments as needed

Requirements:

1. A journalism or communications degree is preferred.
2. Two to five years of daily local newsgathering experience is required.
3. The candidate must be able to shoot, write and edit video using a non-linear video editing software program.
4. Complete command of writing clean broadcast and digital copy and a thorough understanding of the principles and practice of effective and ethical newsgathering.
5. A strong on-air presentation with the ability to speak smoothly during live coverage including completely unscripted breaking news situations.

Pay Range: $33.65 - $43.26 USD
