The Gospel Coalition is hiring: Pastor of Worship and Music at Lexington Communi

The Pastor of Worship and Music will provide pastoral care to our congregation (in coordination with the other elders), musical leadership to our Worship Team and corporate gatherings, and musical teaching to increase our congregation’s ministry opportunities through music.

Job Description

Primary duties:

1. Shepherd the flock
2. This person will serve as a fellow elder being biblically qualified according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, and able to teach in order to shepherd the flock at LCC
3. Lead Worship
4. In cooperation with the other elders, this person will put together the order of worship and lead the music during our Sunday services
5. Oversee the Worship Team and its ancillary duties and responsibilities
6. This person will be skilled in music and help expand our musical worship beyond the corporate setting on Sunday
7. When able, increase our congregation’s proficiency in music – reading music, singing parts, etc.
8. Develop a singing program for our kids/youth
9. Coordinate music for special events throughout the year

Qualifications:

Character = biblically qualified. Convictions = aligns with our church doctrine. Competence = suitable for the position. Chemistry = the right fit with our leaders, staff, Worship Team, and congregation.

The ideal candidate will have a calling to shepherd God’s people, possess leadership qualities, be skilled musically, and desire to equip others to serve with their musical gifts.

Requirements:

Experience in leading congregational worship, strong musician on guitar or keyboard, competence in reading music, ability to train/equip others in music, familiarity with ProPresenter, working knowledge of A/V programs, components, and camera recording equipment.
