GENERAL FUNCTION

The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish For Eyes as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. Helps to create exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted high-quality eyewear which exceeds our customers’ expectations.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Greets all customers with a warm welcome right away, exchanges names, and ensures they know what to expect. Shows urgency in providing service to customers and satisfying their needs.
  2. Custom fits glasses and precisely places prescriptions in lenses.
  3. Acts as a leader in optical acumen that provides a voice for associates.
  4. Takes and records measurements, adjusts or fits eyewear correctly, thorough and exact in details; ensures finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
  5. Attracts new customers.
  6. Explores the needs and priorities of customers by asking open-ended questions.
  7. Is attentive to details, asks follow-up questions for clarity, reads verbal/non-verbal cues; reviews prescriptions and identifies special needs.
  8. Assists co-workers with difficult or complex areas of product needs and prescriptions.
  9. Utilizes store tools and adheres to Brand Store Commitments.
  10. Performs work accurately and thoroughly utilizing all technology despite time pressure and customer volume. Demonstrates superior product knowledge; takes the initiative to accurately describe the features and benefits of various lenses and frames using appropriate tools. Reinforces customers’ final selection.
  11. Anticipates problems; explores underlying reasons for customer issues; strives to develop long-term solutions to problems and ensures customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded. Acts quickly for resolution. Partners with management as necessary.
  12. Possesses the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time with competing priorities.
  13. Commits to delivery date and time, seeks feedback and asks for referrals.
  14. Strives to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
  15. Presents, celebrates and educates at pick up.
  16. Takes pride in store appearance, shows initiative to keep store clean, attractive and organized. Secures and protects company assets in your control.
  17. Informs management of safety opportunities; demonstrates safe work practices.
  18. Possesses a 'can do' spirit and strong drive for results; self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
  19. Adheres to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to discounting, promotions and inventory management.
  20. Sells on your feet 80%-100% of the time.
  21. Additional duties may be assigned as needed (i.e. customer calls, dispensing eyewear, etc.).
  22. Maintains proper dress code, including name tag and associate tablet.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School graduate or equivalent
  2. State Licensure
  3. Optical dispensing experience
  4. Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener and team builder
  5. Knowledge of current store merchandise
  6. Basic math skills
  7. Awareness of current fashion trends
  8. Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPAD/tablet
  9. Familiarity with POS, computers and calculators

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
