Chief Objective of Position: As a member of the marketing and communications team, this position leads a team of photographers and videographers to create and distribute high-quality branded multimedia projects that promote the university through a variety of digital outlets.
Work Tasks
- Oversee and manage the operations and staff of the Visual Services team.
- Provide leadership to the visual services team of photographers and videographers by scheduling assignments, providing support and feedback, and empowering creativity and professional development, including developing current and long-term departmental initiatives.
- Conceive and develop creative solutions for addressing University initiatives through audio-visual assets.
- Produce, edit and distribute media content as required which may include video production, photography, motion graphics, animation, audio and music.
- Execute video and photo shoots on site/on location including lighting, audio, camera operation and talent direction.
- Work closely with internal clients to determine content and format of productions.
- Observe and promote brand standards.
- Conduct interviews with students, staff, faculty, alumni and campus visitors and ensures that valuable sound bites are captured.
- Scout shoot locations and assess possible obstacles in filming and provide solutions or alternatives.
- Use sophisticated software and hardware to edit and assemble final visual/audio program material creating compelling and visually interesting products.
- Maintain all equipment in proper working order including troubleshooting and minor repairs as necessary.
- Attend meetings and offer development and production insight based on the requests.
- Establish protocol for archiving campus visuals.
- Provide digital photography for campus events and promotions as warranted.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise professional and student staff.
- Provide a customer service approach to promote the “students first” initiatives ensuring that all constituents are served in a fast, friendly, efficient, and effective manner.
- Follow workplace safety regulations and adhere to applicable standards, processes, and programs established for your position.
- Immediately report unsafe work conditions and work-related incidents to your supervisor.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring the implementation of safety regulations.
- Report work-related incidents within 24 hours according to the procedures established by the university.
- This position is designated as a “responsible employee” who has the authority to redress sexual violence and report incidents of sexual violence or other student misconduct.

Required Education
Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with experience that equates to an advanced degree.
Experience Required
- Previous experience producing and planning professional-level multimedia programming.
- Experience in scriptwriting, producing, directing and interviewing for video production.
- Technical experience in videography, photography, lighting design, and video editing.
Salary Information
Starting at $64,000, commensurate with education and experience.
