Role Description

The Public Relations Manager is a full-time, on-site role. The PR Manager will be highly collaborative and work in tandem with the marketing team to execute the SCP marketing strategy. You will have a strong PR background in the fashion and/or luxury space and be dialed into industry news, current events, pop culture and the arts and dining.

Responsibilities

 Execute South Coast Plaza's annual Public Relations strategy as part of a comprehensive marketing plan focusing on exposure for the shopping center and its retailers

 Write and deploy all press releases with a strong, editorial SCP voice

 Create and execute on-going media pitches for the following: new boutiques and restaurants, seasonal programming, fashion, jewelry, beauty and home, SCP events and other initiatives

 Maximize South Coast Plaza brand presence locally and regionally through media placements

 Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media contacts for digital, print and broadcast outlets

 Plan and coordinate press announcements for new boutiques in tandem with each brand's press department

 Anticipate and address negative press and potential PR crises

 Produce monthly reports on PR analytics and results

 Create and produce media kits

 Maintain and regularly update media databases

 Assist in the planning and production of media events

 Create talking points for SCP spokespeople for all interviews, media events and newsworthy events impacting the company

 Review all media requests and submit recommendations to supervisor

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of 6-8 years in PR, preferably in the luxury fashion space
  • Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets as well as fashion writers and editors
  • Excellent written, editing and verbal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or related field

Salary range: Base salary commensurate with experience $85k-$105k
