Role Overview
The Development & Communications Coordinator will provide direct daily support to the Associate Director of Development & Communications and will be involved with other stewardship activities related to non-profit fundraising, relationship management, and communications strategy for St Vincent de Paul of Seattle | King County. Responsibilities Maintain donor records and record donations on an ongoing basis in the donor database, generate donor acknowledgments and thank-you letters, assist with year-end tax receipting, and ensure overall data integrity. Coordinate and assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events, including our annual breakfast and golf tournament. Assist in design and distribution of organizational communications, including program impact reports, fundraising materials, donor communications, newsletters, and online content. Coordinate website and social media outputs including outside media and visibility strategy. Support the development team in the research and identification of potential donors; assist in donor, sponsor, and partner communications to build and maintain relationships. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or nonprofit management, or a related program of study; candidates with equivalent experience may be considered. High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in working with donor information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of communication principles and best practices. Strong attention to detail; data oriented. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with computer software such as MS Office, as well as data entry systems (CRMs) and reporting. Knowledge of website management and social media tools including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others. Demonstrated effectiveness and skill set in event planning and management. Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team. A passion for the organization's mission, equity, and advancing racial and economic justice. Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred, but not required.
