We have an exciting opportunity for an
Editorial Coordinator
to join our Editorial Department! As an Editorial Coordinator for Science Signaling and Science Immunology, you will manage processes from manuscript acceptance to final publication. You will coordinate communication and files among editors and authors while also serving as the primary liaison with other AAAS departments, including Operations, Press Package, Visuals, and Proofreading. You will also be the main contact between the journals and external vendors such as Straive and The Sheridan Press. Your role is essential to the weekly publication of both journals as you ensure smooth manuscript production and provide administrative support to editorial staff. Your proactive coordination and problem-solving skills will help maintain a seamless workflow, ensuring that all deadlines are met. What You'll Do Collaborate with several editors, a managing editor, and others in Science Editorial, Science Visuals, Operations, and the Science Press Package teams Serve as the primary coordinator for the publication of accepted manuscripts for Science Signaling and Science Immunology Provide coverage as needed for Science Translational Medicine and Science Robotics Coordinate the publication of scholarly articles, including scheduling, tracking, and reviewing content for adherence to style and format Communicate among all team members for smooth operation of issue production Maintain documentation of procedures Interact with authors and vendors by email and phone Provide additional administrative support for the team as needed Minimum Qualifications Extensive university- or college-level training leading to a bachelor’s degree Experience in an office environment Proficiency in MS Office suite (particularly Word and Excel) and collaboration platforms (such as Teams) Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Ability to produce consistent quality while meeting deadlines Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and software Familiarity with publishing software and copyediting standards and guidelines is a plus Application Process Submit a resume and cover letter by
