The Marketing Specialist will play a key role in driving profitable growth via new customers, employee recruitment & acquisition. Our Marketing Communications Specialist will also support our employment brand to help build a culture that ensures high levels of employee engagement and pride in being part of Fortis. The Marketing Communications Specialist will promote Fortis Fire & Safety’s products and services to existing and prospective customers through strategic communications, use of graphics, logos, and other promotional products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to building the Fortis brand as the first choice of founder-owners in the industry to sell their business. Support the development of related marketing and communication activities to successfully integrate new acquisitions under the Fortis brand.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing representatives at Fortis and the local markets to increase the synergy between marketing and sales, set up lead handoff processes, sync data between marketing and sales teams, and help align both departments for a cohesive customer experience.
  • Key contributor to continuously enhance Fortis and unify the local markets digital brand presence including website, social media, email communications, and paid advertising to deliver a best-in-class online experience and drive qualifying leads.
  • Develop more multi-media content in local markets to help build the brand, generate leads, and educate customers.
  • Track website visitors, engagement trends, behavior, and improvements in the local markets in website traffic, user engagement, and conversion rates resulting from content created.
  • Analyze the correlation between these improvements and increased sales or lead generation and customer satisfaction.
  • Create and monitor communications campaigns, which may include print media, social, email, direct mail, tradeshows, and other multi-media to maximize results. Monitor activity, answer questions, create content, analyze trends, and resolve issues on social media channels. Track and report on web visits and conversions, social metrics such as follower growth, engagement and click-through rates and source analytics against key marketing performance metrics/marketing dashboards, which can be linked to ROI.
  • Participate in employment branding activities to build the Fortis culture and retain top talent, attract candidates, and help integrate acquired companies.
  • Adhere to the Marketing Plan including scheduling, budgets, and production of marketing initiatives.
  • Attend tradeshows and community events and staff the company booth. Evaluate the success of tradeshows and compare the cost of running these initiatives to the revenue generated or leads acquired as a result.
  • Interpret data from various sources such as the CRM system, surveys, web analytics, and market research to fully understand the competition, industry trends, product portfolio and customer needs to determine the most effective communication technique to achieve market growth and service excellence.
  • Set up automation in the CRM system including creating custom workflows, setting up lead scoring systems, and automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Implement automated marketing campaigns in the CRM system and track the number of marketing qualified leads (MQL) through conversion in the local markets to increase revenue and continuously improve the efforts of the sales, customer service, and marketing teams.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze the data from the CRM system to identify trends, patterns, and insights to make informed decisions, optimize campaigns for better results and drive growth and help improve customer behavior, satisfaction, and retention.
  • All other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • Three to five years of related experience writing and editing projects; portfolio of relevant previous projects required.
  • Successful track record of executing marketing programs.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills that may include public speaking and presentations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in web design, HTML, and CRM systems (HubSpot)

Compensation: $70,000/year
