Job Description

The Amityville Public Library (Amityville, NY) is seeking a Part-Time Young Adult/Adult Librarian for our Adult Reference Desk for 17.5 hours per week on weeknights and Saturdays. We are looking for a Librarian with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and who works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide excellent public service at the Young Adult & Adult Reference desks.
2. Provide library informational, reference and referral services.
3. Assist with mobile technology and computer questions.
4. Plan and provide publicity materials for library programs.
5. Coordinate and facilitate programs as needed.
6. Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in library science from an accredited college or university.
2. Must be eligible for or have a valid active NYS Public Librarian Certificate.
3. Must be available for evening and Saturday shifts as well as some daytime shifts as needed.

Salary:

Starting at $31.22 per hour, commensurate with experience.
