Senior Account Supervisor, Public Relations

Who are you?

You bring a time-tested roster of media relationships and proven experience pitching successful storylines for luxury travel/hospitality brands. You have a pulse on what’s trending in the industry and aim for coverage that drives qualified leads to the clients you represent. You have a strong understanding of the luxury travel and lifestyle industries and thrive on brokering partnerships for your clients.

The Role

As the Senior Account Supervisor, you will take a bigger role in strategy and thought leadership, mentoring and guiding your teams, managing direct reports, and conducting annual reviews. You will implement agency practices, craft and deliver workshops, and lead culture initiatives. You will ensure all initiatives are moving forward and client service delivery is exceptional, while also managing account profitability and growth on smaller accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Account + Client Management

  • Take a larger role in planning and strategy, creating a direct impact on client-directed financial goals/initiatives
  • Implement strategy and evaluate the performance of KPIs
  • Act as a trusted partner to Clients
  • Liaise directly with clients while encouraging the Publicist or Senior Publicist on your account to have visibility too

Media Relations

  • Demonstrate deeper media relations expertise by delivering impactful hits
  • Mentor your teammates to grow their media relations skill-set
  • Focus on brand-building media relations meetings while dividing big lists with your team when needed

New Business

  • Help with new business ideation and/or closing deals
  • Manage direct report(s), providing leadership, guidance, feedback, and coaching
  • Control the flow and quality of your team's account work
  • Identify skill gaps and craft/deliver workshops to address those gaps

Experience

  • College Degree or comparable experience required
  • At least 7 years of public relations experience in hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, or consumer lifestyle
  • Must have strong and proven relationships with media contacts
  • Must have effective management skills

Requirements

  • Ability to travel for client needs
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Adobe Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High-energy, positive self-starter
  • Must have a valid passport for international travel

J/PR offers a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Competitive base salary: New York pay range $85,000 - $93,000, commensurate with experience
  • Commission opportunities
  • Year-end discretionary bonus
  • Flexible Release Fridays
  • Hybrid office schedule (2-3 days in office)
