Job Captains are the conduit to vertical and lateral communication throughout JLG. They work quickly and efficiently in documentation to translate the design intent into constructable solutions. Assisting the Project Designer, Project Architect, and Project Manager through ongoing project review, consultant coordination, and oversight of Project Associates, Job Captains are accountable for all team members by establishing clear lines of communication to meet and exceed project delivery metrics.

Responsibilities

  1. Bi-weekly review of project deliverables demonstrated through shared 'redlines' with Team Lead Manager.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of managing team sizes of 10-12, including consultants.
  3. Execute effective consultant coordination milestones and timelines with minimal oversight and direction.
  4. Provide effective verbal, graphic and written communication laterally and vertically with project teams.
  5. Coordinate project budget and schedule alignment with Project Architect and Project Manager.
  6. Accountable for full project deliverables with demonstrated knowledge of JLG production standards with a strong focus on building code and detailing.
  7. Propose solutions to problems that maintain the design intent, are code compliant, and demonstrate a full understanding of best construction practices.
  8. Train and mentor Project Associate through project peer review and invest in their growth through delegated project experiences.
  9. Review and respond to all aspects of the Construction Administration process.
  10. Lead Framework for Design Excellence efforts on projects through critical analysis of design solutions and utilization of sustainability software.
  11. Job Captains conduct themselves with utmost integrity and set an example of JLGer behavior. They complete work in a timely fashion at the highest standards of quality.
  12. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s of Architecture from an accredited university.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in practice, including internships.
  3. Registered architect, or actively pursuing licensure.
  4. Successful completion of AXP demonstrated by provided NCARB record.
  5. Advanced knowledge of building codes and building science.

Preferred:

  1. Minimum 4 years of experience in practice, including internships.
  2. Ability to provide job functions on projects up to $70 M.
  3. Total project portfolio demonstrating experience of minimum $250 M in construction value.
  4. Experience with Rehabilitation, Workplace, and Community projects.
  5. Advanced knowledge of project budget management demonstrated through cost analysis on minimum of five projects.

Compensation for this role is determined based on location, experience, and skills, with an annual salary range of $62,000 - $80,000.
