JOB SCOPE

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Advanced Video Engineer III to join our team. This role focuses on providing technical expertise in video systems, cloud DVR technology, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will excel in handling complex deployments, supporting 24/7 operations in an on-call rotation, and optimizing video delivery services to ensure the highest quality for our customers.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced video delivery systems, including linear, cDVR, and OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms.
  • Support and optimize cloud DVR solutions, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate video infrastructure with existing systems and new technologies.
  • Plan and execute the deployment of video-related software and hardware, ensuring minimal service disruption.
  • Implement upgrades, patches, and enhancements to video systems and cloud DVR platforms.
  • Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting for video workflows.
  • Provide 24/7 support for critical video and cloud DVR systems through an on-call rotation.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system changes.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving video delivery services, reliability, and scalability.
  • Stay updated on emerging video technologies and industry trends to ensure competitive advantage.

BASIC / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in video engineering or related field, a focus on cloud DVR and advanced video systems is preferred.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expertise in video delivery protocols (HLS, MPEG-DASH), encoding/decoding (HEVC, AVC), and content distribution networks (CDNs).
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) with a focus on video-related services.
  • Basic scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk, Data Dog).
  • Must be comfortable with Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on delivering results in high-pressure environments.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team setting.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with DRM (Digital Rights Management) and video security technologies.
  • Knowledge of IPTV or cable video infrastructure.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • On-call rotation requiring availability for 24/7 support as scheduled.
  • Hybrid model with one day remote.
