CareerWise is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that creates life-changing opportunities for the youngest generation of America’s workforce. We build industry-led, student-centered, modern youth apprenticeships through classroom and on-the-job learning, providing flexible, alternative pathways to economic mobility. We have hundreds of CareerWise apprentices in the workplace, charting new paths to academic and career success. In addition, workforce and education leaders from across the country have visited CareerWise to learn about our youth apprenticeship model. As a result, our programs have launched in multiple states, leveraging our institutional knowledge, technology, and infrastructure.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Learning Solutions, the Content Development Manager will work closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to design, develop, and deploy new asynchronous and synchronous learning solutions for internal stakeholders, CW supervisors, and CW apprentices. Ideal candidate will serve as NY liaison for continuous support for supervisor and apprentice based solutions
What You’ll Be Doing:
- RESEARCH & ANALYSIS | You will conduct thorough research and analyze learning needs to ensure content aligns with business objectives and target audience requirements. Consistent check-ins with manager and stakeholders via Sprint Reviews and Daily meetings will be part of the alignment process.
- INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN | You will utilize best practices in pedagogy and andragogy to design engaging, learner-centered training materials that effectively convey complex information.
- CONTENT DEVELOPMENT | You will write, edit, and produce clear, accurate, and appropriate content at a proficient level that may be published in the form of LMS training courses, video scripts, online help systems, multimedia files, Articulate Storyline files, or other formats as appropriate for the audience and content, gaining assistance from more experienced team members when needed. Content Development manager will also curate content from our content catalog, Go1
- FACILITATION/ DEPLOYMENT | You will facilitate live training sessions and oversee the seamless deployment of self-paced modules, ensuring content is effectively delivered to and received by learners.
- PROJECT MANAGEMENT | You will manage multiple content development projects using agile project management principles while adhering to tight timelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet deliverables.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Key competencies to be successful in this role:
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to publish and track training modules, assessments, and learner progress
- Instructional Design experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Articulate 360 or similar e-learning authoring tools
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint for designing visually compelling and educational slide decks for live workshops and virtual sessions
- Ability to determine priority tasks and manage other requests according to priority order
- Excellent communication skills in person and online; ability to distill complex concepts and effectively explain/share information to diverse audiences
- Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
- Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision
Additional proficiencies:
- 2+ years of applying adult learning theories (andragogy) to create learner-centered training materials
- 1+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience in content research and gap analysis to ensure learning materials are aligned with business goals and learner needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex topics into clear, concise, and engaging content
- Analytical and creative thinker
- Experience using Google Suite and project management software (like Jira, Lucid, etc.)
- Comfort with change and ambiguity
- Experience and interest in working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement

Location:
This role can be based in/near Denver, Colorado or it can be 100% remote. There will be occasions (possibly 2-4 times per year) for staff to come to Denver for in-person meetings and/or training. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances.
